"Lena and I have had quite an adventure these four months in Venice", says Lasse Hallström about filming.

"Yes, I can set her (Sienna Miller) straight", laughs Lena Olin. "As her mother, a strict widow, I want her to marry rich to save our poor family". They both look as if they had stepped out of the walls of another time. Lena's dress is lagging across the floor as she gets in position for her next scene. "These corsettes are like a jail", she whispers. "But that's good. It makles it easier to step into such a strict character."

Again thanks to both of them for this superb Jennifer Garner quote from the April 2005 issue of Plaza-Kvinna. She is asked what Lena is like as a person:

"Wonderful. Lena's perfect for the role, because it needed a tough woman who gives the impression of being both hard and sensitive. Lena's a woman who is equal to the men, she won't let herself be held down. She's confident in herself, and she's raising her children to become equal. Lena's a good role model for girls!"

04.10.05 - Screecap goodies! I made some caps of Lena at the 1990 Oscar ceremony when she was nominated for Best Supporting Actress. She looked so uncomfortable! I love her shy smile at the end. Also made a few from the 2000 awards when Lasse was nominated. Thanks to Bev and Leah for the tapes!

Lena seemed much more relaxed and happy during the 2003 Emmy Awards ceremony when she was nominated. What a smile. Also included caps of her post-show interview and her enthusiastic cheering of Victor when his nomination was announced!
